Handfish research supported by the Hub is centred on Tasmania’s endemic Red Handfish and Spotted Handfish, both of which are listed by the Australian Government as Critically Endangered. We're working with the Handfish Recovery Team to help assess and monitor handfish numbers, protect and restore habitat, engage with the community and establish insurance populations through captive breeding.
